Terms of service

These terms (the "Terms") govern your use of PingPane, a website uptime monitoring service operated by Pettabyte Group ("we", "us", "PingPane"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

The service

PingPane runs scheduled HTTP checks against URLs you configure and notifies you when a check fails. We also provide public status pages, an alerting pipeline, and a small set of free tools. We make no guarantee that every check will run on time or that every failure will result in an alert, but we work hard to make that the common case.

Accounts

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Don't share your password. Use a strong one. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact hi@pingpane.com immediately. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Plans, trials, and billing

The free plan covers up to three monitors with the same feature set as paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe; we charge the card on file at the start of each billing period. If a charge fails we will retry; if retries fail your account is downgraded to the free plan and monitors above the free-plan limit are paused (not deleted).

Refunds.Annual plans are refundable, prorated, within 14 days of the most recent charge. Monthly plans are not prorated on downgrade but we will gladly refund the current month if you email us within seven days of the charge and you haven't used the upgrade.

Price changes.We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase affects your subscription. You can downgrade or cancel at any time before the new price takes effect.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use PingPane to:

• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system you don't own or have explicit permission to test.
• Configure checks at a frequency designed to denial-of-service a third-party site or our infrastructure.
• Monitor sites whose content violates applicable law (including but not limited to CSAM, terrorism content, or copyright-infringing material).
• Resell PingPane access to third parties without a written agreement.
• Attempt to circumvent the limits of your plan or extract our product through automated means.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates this section. We will try to email you first unless the violation is severe.

Your content

The URLs, status-page text, monitor names, and other configuration you put into PingPane (your "Content") belongs to you. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display that Content for the sole purpose of running the service for you. We don't claim any other rights to it.

Service availability

We aim for high availability and we publish our own live status at /s/pingpane. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, that every check will run exactly on schedule, or that every alert will reach you. Use PingPane as one input into your reliability practice, not the only one.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PingPane and Pettabyte Group are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the service. Our aggregate liability to you for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from /dashboard/settings. We can terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these Terms; we will try to give you notice and an opportunity to cure unless the breach is severe. On termination, we will delete your account data per the retention schedule in our privacy policy.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
